Our Programs

GIRLS BUZZ

Girls Buzz is a flagship initiative that amplifies girls’ voices, builds leadership and nurtures a strong sisterhood.

The program includes:

Annual Girls Convening: A safe space for girls and young women to discuss challenges, co-create solutions, and connect with peers.

Girls Academy: A leadership and advocacy learning space equipping girls with feminist knowledge, digital skills, and tools to challenge oppressive systems.

Girls Buzz Platform: An online space that bridges access to information, mentorship, and opportunities regardless of geography or background.

Health Spark Project

The Health Spark Project is a transformative initiative designed to equip young people—especially girls and young women with the knowledge and skills they need to lead healthy, empowered lives. Focused on comprehensive Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) education, gender equality, and self-awareness, the project works directly with schools to reach adolescents at a critical stage of their development.

Through engaging school outreach sessions, the project creates safe and supportive spaces where young people can learn about their bodies, rights, and choices. We believe that when girls and boys are informed, confident, and aware of their value, they are better equipped to advocate for themselves and others.

The Health Spark Project contributes to building a generation that is not only health-conscious and gender-awareness but also empowered to challenge harmful norms and lead change in their communities. It’s about nurturing informed, confident, and self-reliant youth who are ready to shape a more just and equal future.

Second Chance Project

The Second Chance Project is a holistic initiative aimed at empowering teenage mothers and girls whose education has been interrupted due to early pregnancy and related challenges. At Woyomo, we recognize the stigma, isolation, and emotional distress these girls face often left to navigate motherhood without support while their dreams are put on hold.

This project provides a path forward through a combination of psychosocial and mental health support, self-care education, and mentorship to help girls rebuild their confidence, heal, and successfully reintegrate into school. For those who are unable to return to formal education, we offer vocational training, entrepreneurship skills, and seed capital to help them become financially independent.

By equipping them with the right tools whether for school or sustainable income—we are restoring hope, dignity, and the belief that no dream is ever too late to pursue. Second Chance is more than a program; it’s a movement to ensure that every girl gets the opportunity to rise, thrive, and lead a life of purpose.

Beyond Limits Project

Beyond Limits is a feminist advocacy and empowerment project dedicated to supporting rural women, girls, and survivors of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) to reclaim their power and live free from violence and discrimination. Rooted in the fight against femicide and systemic abuse, the project creates space for healing, awareness, and resilience-building.

The program focuses on three key areas:

  • Raising awareness on GBV and femicide through media campaigns, community dialogues, and survivor-led storytelling.
  • Supporting survivors with mental health services, psychosocial support, and safe spaces to heal and rebuild.
  • Empowering women and girls economically, especially those who have experienced violence, through vocational training, entrepreneurship, and skills development to achieve financial independence.

Beyond Limits is not just about recovery—it’s about amplifying voices, challenging harmful norms, and strengthening movements. It equips women and girls with tools to organize, lead, and influence policy at both community and national levels, pushing for justice and systems that protect them.

Handmade Hope Project

Handmade Hope is a social enterprise initiative by Woyomo that empowers teenage mothers, unemployed women, and survivors of gender-based violence in rural Tanzania, particularly in the Simiyu region. The project provides skills training in crochet, handmade crafts, and financial literacy to enable women to generate income, rebuild their lives, and achieve lasting independence.

Through this program, participants gain:

  • Vocational training in handmade product creation (e.g., crochet, leather, beads)
  • Access to safe spaces for psychosocial support, healing, and mentorship
  • Digital marketing and branding skills to reach wider markets
  • Table banking and savings groups to support financial growth and sustainability

Products are sold locally and online, and 10% of the profits are reinvested into community initiatives creating a cycle of empowerment and support.

This project breaks the cycle of poverty and abuse by giving women tools to reclaim their dignity, strengthen their economic standing, and become leaders in their communities
