Introducing the 2025 Health Spark Peer Educators Empowering Youth for SRHR and Community Wellbeing in Kinondoni, Dar es Salaam
At Women and Youth Movement (Woyomo), we are excited to unveil the 2025 cohort of Health Spark Peer Educators—a vibrant team of young leaders working to promote Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR)and advance gender equality in Kinondoni District, Dar es Salaam.
Through our Health Spark project, these peer educators will lead impactful, youth-centered interventions in six secondary schools and across media platforms, championing accurate information, dialogue, and action on issues affecting young people’s health and rights.
Why Peer Educators?
Young people in urban and peri-urban areas like Kinondoni continue to face SRHR-related challenges including stigma, lack of comprehensive sexuality education, and limited access to youth-friendly health services. To tackle these issues, the Health Spark project puts youth at the forefront—equipping them with the knowledge, confidence, and tools to support their peers and influence positive change.

We are proud of our 2025 Peer Educators for stepping up to spark important conversations, hold space for their peers, and be the change-makers their communities need
